PARQUET BOARD SELECTION – WHAT IS IT?
Selection is the process of choosing and sorting wood by appearance. Boards of the same wood species can differ significantly in appearance depending on the selection.
Depending on the room and interior design where the new flooring is planned to be installed, experts will recommend different selections.
Thus, for refined classic designs, Select is more suitable, while for country or rustic style interiors, Rustic is the best choice. The Nature selection type is more universal and suitable for implementing most design solutions.
According to this parameter, there is the following classification:
- Select
- Nature
- Rustic

Select
The select grade also has another name – standard.
This is the highest category. It features a natural clear pattern and smooth tonal transitions. It is also unacceptable to have knots, sapwood, and other defects.
Nature Grade.
It may contain small knots and streaks, with sapwood present. The top layer features a vibrant wood pattern. Tonal variations are clearly visible. The number of acceptable defects varies for each type of board.
Rustic or Country Grade.
It beautifully displays transitions between tones, and also features knots and medullary rays.
In any case, a floor covered with parquet boards will become a decoration of your interior – it all depends on your preferences. Of course, select will be a strong and reliable choice, but the most vibrant option will still be rustic.
