PARQUET FLOORING OR LAMINATE, HOW DO THEY DIFFER?

What should you focus on when choosing? Is it only price that separates these two floor coverings, or are there features that cannot be overlooked?
Laminate flooring consists of fiberboard and kraft paper bonded with polymers or, more simply, adhesive. The top decorative layer has protection that contains melamine resin as its base. The resin strengthens the floor covering and makes it durable.
Thanks to the fiberboard, laminate acquires a strong structure and the ability to withstand environmental climate changes. However, there is another layer located under the fiberboard, which consists of either plastic or special paper impregnated with resin. But in practice, this is insufficient to resist moisture, and to increase moisture resistance, laminate is treated with special impregnation containing wax.
Essentially, laminate is fiberboard impregnated with various resins and moisture-resistant agents.

Parquet flooring can be used in children’s rooms, living rooms, offices, bedrooms, stores, and retail spaces. This covering provides excellent thermal insulation, sound insulation, and contains only natural materials in its structure.
Typically, parquet flooring consists of three layers glued together at different angles to provide greater rigidity and strength. Moisture resistance differs noticeably from laminate – since parquet flooring is not fiberboard, it is almost unable to dry out and crack!

The top layer of parquet flooring is made of valuable wood from oak, ash, acacia, hornbeam, or maple.
The middle layer, depending on the model, consists of coniferous lamella that lies perpendicular to the top and bottom layers and is glued under high pressure and temperature of approximately 85°C. The tongue-and-groove connection allows for quick and reliable installation of the board with adhesive.
The bottom layer provides the product with stability and steadiness. It is made of solid veneer from coniferous wood species.
All layers glued together under high pressure form a monolithic structure that is much more reliable than laminate, and through different layers becomes more stable, reliable, and beautiful.
